We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Work Assistant to join a well-established Children in Care service within a forward-thinking local authority. The Role
You will play a key role in supporting Social Workers in delivering high-quality services to children in care and those involved in care proceedings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the completion of statutory assessments
- Supervising family time/contact sessions
- Working directly with children, young people, and families
- Undertaking home visits and community-based support
- Recording accurate and up-to-date case information
- Providing practical and emotional support to families
- Working closely with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and children's services processes
- Is confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Has excellent communication skills and can adapt their approach to different audiences
- Is organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload
- Is committed to building positive, long-term relationships with children and families
- Is confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
Requirements
- Experience in a similar Social Work Assistant / Family Support role
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
