Job Description: Senior Estimator
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
Location: Paola, KS
Industry: Structural Steel Fabrication
Core Function:
To provide accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for potential projects. Additional responsibilities will include quote review, project management, and material purchasing. The successful candidate will prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders for existing contracts.
The Client:
Our client is a leading AISC steel fabricator and erector across the Midwest and has been operating since the mid-1900s.
Responsibilities:
· Review drawings, specifications, and other documents, to successfully bid jobs at a profit, for fabrication and erection when indicated.
· Understand how to quantify labor and material costs on a project.
· Negotiate with customers and communicate with DSI staff.
· Work with the Project Manager following a successful bid, to ensure an accurate transfer of information and defining of scope, including revisions, additions, and deletions.
· Present bids in their entirety, at job kickoff meetings.
· Continue to work with Project Management on pricing issues pertaining to the bid or to revisions.
Requirements:
· Understand shop detail drawings, erection plans and construction specifications
· Understand construction concepts and methods
· Proficiency with Tekla EPM / PowerFab
