Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Council Tax Specialist with a strong background in billing and recovery to support Walsall Council's Revenues and Benefits Service. This role plays a key part in helping to clear a current backlog and ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer valuation, billing, collection, and enforcement of Council Tax and Business Rates
Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries via telephone, letter, and electronic methods
Provide accurate advice and information in accordance with relevant legislation and council procedures
Maintain financial and operational systems in line with government standards
Deliver a responsive and efficient service to all customers
Requirements:
Proven experience in Council Tax billing and recovery
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and local government procedures
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage caseloads independently
Additional Information:
This is a remote role following equipment collection on day one
