CWI Certified Quality Control Manager

Location: Lynchburg - Virginia ON SITE 5 Days A WEEK

Salary: $110k - $125k (negotiable depending on experience) + relocation assistance

I've teamed up with the a Industrial Steel Company that are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager who comes from a fabrication background.

Job Description

  • Maintains all required quality control processes and documentation in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Implements inspection criteria and procedures for production.
  • Ensures that statistical and measurement product data elements are being properly recorded and documented
  • Directs and monitors all test functions.
  • Documents and escalates non-conforming/out of tolerance production issues to the leadership team.
  • Leads the analysis of returned products to verify the nature of potential product quality concerns.
  • Applies quality management tools and analytical processes in daily operations to support root cause analysis and internal corrective action processes, ensuring timely and effective responses to the various corrective action requests issued throughout the Plant.
  • Plays an active leadership role regarding operational quality within the manufacturing organization.
  • Manage and report on the status of the Plant quality objectives.

What you'll need:

  • Engineering degree or Completion of a Quality Assurance certificate, through community college, ideally with an emphasis in Steelwork or manufacturing.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training would be an asset
  • Familiarity with GMAW and FCAW welding process.
  • Knowledgeable in drawings, codes, and standards.
  • Experience with Ultrasonic Testing or (UT)
  • Formal or a minimum of 5 years of on the job training in the area of Quality Control
  • Over 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an Steelwork or Fabrication
  • Ability to solve problems where only limited standardization exists and interpret a variety of instructions.
