Purchasing Manager - Structural Steel

A well-established and respected structural steel company is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team based in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded individual to play a key role in the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services across a variety of steelwork projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full purchasing process for structural steel, consumables, and subcontracted services.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure the best value, quality, and delivery performance.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to drive cost savings without compromising project deadlines or standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material requirements and manage stock levels.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and project specifications.
Continuously review and improve procurement strategies, systems, and procedures.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a purchasing role within the structural steel industry is essential.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Excellent understanding of materials and components used in steel fabrication and erection.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems is advantageous.
