🏢 The Company
A large, long‑established union steel erection contractor delivering major commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the United States. The organisation employs several hundred union tradespeople and a sizeable professional staff, operating at high annual project volume.
They are expanding nationally following a recent acquisition and have a fabrication division planned for the coming years. Current work includes airports, distribution centres, and advanced manufacturing facilities, with significant multi‑million‑dollar steel packages already completed and further backlog secured.
🔧 The Role
You will manage steel erection and fabrication projects from award through completion, ensuring safety, schedule, and profitability.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple steel erection/fabrication projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and field operations.
- Prepare purchase orders, subcontracts, and project documentation.
- Lead progress meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Produce productivity reports, financial projections, and support billings.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and partners.
🎯 The Candidate
Must‑haves:
- 3+ years' commercial construction project management experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Understanding of structural steel fabrication or erection.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
