Project Manager - Commercial Glazing

Overview
An established commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its commercial glazing and façade division. This role will manage glazing scopes from award through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and architectural glazing systems on mid-to-large scale commercial projects in the Houston market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial glazing projects from contract award through final closeout
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and budgets to identify risk and scope gaps
- Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams for effective project handover
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and cost controls to maintain profitability
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
- Coordinate fabrication, delivery schedules, and site logistics
- Work closely with field supervision to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Interface with general contractors, architects, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Track job costs, forecasts, and billing to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Negotiate and manage change orders and scope adjustments
- Maintain project documentation, reporting, and closeout requirements
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within commercial glazing or façade construction
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, aluminum, and architectural glass systems
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and fabrication partners
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost tracking, and billing processes
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable managing multiple active projects simultaneously
- Experience working on commercial projects such as office, healthcare, education, mixed‑use, or industrial
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the Houston or Texas commercial construction market
- Exposure to design-assist or negotiated glazing projects
- Familiarity with shop drawing review and fabrication workflows
- Experience supporting field teams and resolving site coordination issues
- Background in estimating or preconstruction within glazing or façade scopes
