A major heavy steel fabrication business delivering landmark bridge and infrastructure projects is looking to hire an NDT Coordinator to strengthen its Quality team. This is a key hire within a large-scale manufacturing environment, offering genuine progression into senior Quality leadership as the business continues to expand.
You'll take ownership of coordinating all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activity across a high-volume steel operation, ensuring compliance, scheduling inspections, managing documentation, and driving quality standards on complex structural projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all internal and third-party NDT operations across fabrication projects
- Manage scheduling of UT, MT, PT, VT and other required inspections
- Ensure compliance with AWS codes, client specifications, and internal QA/QC standards
- Maintain accurate records, reports, traceability, and quality documentation
- Liaise with production, welding, engineering, and external inspectors
- Support audits, NCR resolution, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help develop and strengthen the wider Quality program as production scales
Ideal Background
- Previous experience as an NDT Coordinator, NDT Supervisor, QA/QC Inspector, or Quality professional in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, bridge, pressure vessel, shipbuilding, or related industries
- Strong understanding of NDT methods such as UT, MT, PT, VT
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 / D1.5 highly desirable
- CWI or other relevant certifications highly advantageous
- Strong organisation, documentation, and communication skills
- Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced production setting
