Personal Adviser - Children's Services
Location: Telford
Rate: £20 Umbrella
Hours: 37 per week
Hybrid Working: Approximately two days per week office-based, subject to service needs
Driver Essential: Access to own vehicle and business insurance required
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Personal Adviser to support care-experienced young people as they move towards independent adulthood. You shall hold a caseload of young people aged 16-21, and in some instances up to 25, providing statutory support, guidance, and practical assistance. This role demands excellent organisational skill, sound judgement, and a steadfast commitment to improving life outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfil the statutory Personal Adviser function for care-experienced young people aged 16-21 (or up to 25 where eligible).
Act as the key professional and case manager for Former Relevant young people, and for Relevant or Qualifying young people requiring guidance and assistance.
Work alongside young people and their support networks to develop the skills and confidence required for independent living.
Assist young people in preparing for their transition from care, offering tailored advice, advocacy, and ongoing support through to adulthood.
Promote stability, wellbeing, and positive engagement with education, training, employment, and community resources.
Requirements
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle and appropriate business-use insurance.
Experience supporting young people within social care, safeguarding, or youth services settings.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to manage a varied caseload with professionalism and empathy.
Competent in recording, planning, and maintaining statutory documentation.
