Job Title: National Sales Director - (Fabrication)
Location: United States (Remote with 50% travel)
Salary: $175,000 - $215,000 + Commission
The Role
This is a technical Sales and Business Development leadership role responsible for driving nationwide sales growth for a Utility fabrication department. You will develop and execute strategic sales plans, lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, and build strong relationships with key clients to meet ambitious revenue targets. The position involves setting sales goals, analyzing market trends, and working collaboratively across departments to ensure alignment with wider business objectives.
Day to day
- Lead technical Sales & Business Development efforts to drive nationwide growth for the Utility Division.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee, review, and approve technical proposals and RFQ responses.
- Manage and mentor Regional Sales Managers, setting goals and ensuring performance targets are met.
- Attend trade shows, client meetings, and industry events to strengthen brand presence.
- Manage relationships with third-party marketing firms and oversee promotional activities.
- Professionally entertain key clients and foster long-term partnerships.
- Travel approximately 50% of the time.
Requirements
- Proven experience driving sales growth, winning awards, and leading successful commercial execution.
- Subject Matter Expert-level knowledge of steel transmission, substation, and distribution pole structures, including manufacturing and commercial processes.
- Basic understanding of pole design methodology.
- Strong market acumen with deep familiarity of the steel pole market, competing material markets (lattice towers, wood, concrete), competitors, and complementary products.
- Demonstrated experience leading sales teams and building strong customer relationships.
