Make a Real Difference in Westminster

Our clients Housing Services play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the Council's reputation. We are currently seeking a Temporary Lettings Officer to join our Housing Management team and provide a high-quality, responsive lettings service to residents across the borough.

About the Role

As a Lettings Officer, you will manage the entire lettings process, from the moment a tenant gives notice to the successful sign-up of a new resident. This role is essential in reducing void turnaround times, minimizing rent loss, and ensuring new tenants are welcomed into safe and well-maintained homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all housing management phases of the voids and lettings process.

  • Working closely with the Allocations Team, Voids Team, and contractors to achieve turnaround targets.

  • Conducting pre-inspections, accompanied viewings, and tenancy sign-ups (in-person and virtual).

  • Providing information on tenancy rights, responsibilities, property condition standards, and the allocations process.

  • Adopting a customer-focused approach to viewings, promoting the benefits of each property.

  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting of lettings activity.

  • Supporting residents with advice on moving, tenancy obligations, and general housing queries.

  • Attending evictions and arranging follow-up actions as required.

  • Delivering excellent customer service and responding to enquiries within agreed timeframes.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a lettings role or similar housing function (desirable).

  • Experience working with the public or in a customer service environment (essential).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to manage and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with IT systems and accurate record-keeping.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

  • Awareness of equality and diversity principles in service delivery.
