Job Description

Derby City Council is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Information Governance Manager to join its Housing team on a temporary basis to cover maternity/parental leave. Working within Derby Homes, this role requires expertise in all areas of information governance and records management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver information governance functions across the organisation.

  • Handle requests under:

    • Data Protection legislation

    • Freedom of Information Act

    • Environmental Information Regulations

    • Subject Access Requests

  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

  • Draft and review Data Sharing Agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with the UK GDPR and related legislation.

  • Support governance-related project work as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in information governance or a similar compliance role.

  • In-depth understanding of UK GDPR and relevant regulatory frameworks.

  • Ability to process and respond to complex data requests.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Working Pattern

  • Hybrid: 3 days on-site at Derby (London Road), 2 days working from home.
