About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Housing and Welfare Officer to join Walsall Council on a temporary assignment. This is a vital role supporting residents with housing, welfare and benefits-related matters, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and with empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advice and support on housing and welfare issues.
Assist service users with applications, assessments, and tenancy-related matters.
Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and landlords to resolve issues effectively.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.
Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with data protection standards.
About You:
Previous experience in housing, welfare, or benefits-related services is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure.
Knowledge of housing legislation and welfare policy.
IT literate with good organisational skills.
