If you're the kind of person who prefers being out on-site rather than behind a desk - and you take real pride in seeing projects come together safely, on time, and done right - this one's worth a look.

We're working with a well-established, family-run structural steel contractor with over two decades of consistent growth. They've built a strong reputation across commercial, residential, and institutional projects, combining modern fabrication capability with a hands-on, no-politics culture.

This is a high-impact, field-led leadership role where you'll be the link between fabrication and erection - making sure everything delivered actually gets installed properly, safely, and on schedule.

πŸ”§ What you'll be doing

This isn't a "sit back and delegate" position - it's hands-on, fast-moving, and varied depending on project phase.

  • Overseeing multiple active job sites at once

  • Coordinating daily with superintendents and field teams

  • Managing erection crews, foremen, and subcontractors

  • Assigning manpower based on shifting priorities

  • Driving strict safety compliance (OSHA + industry standards)

  • Running toolbox talks and conducting safety audits

  • Tracking installation progress alongside Project Managers

  • Adjusting schedules and sequencing to keep projects on track

  • Ensuring quality, logistics, and material flow are aligned on-site

You'll typically be overseeing:

  • 20 field personnel

  • 2 superintendents

  • Up to 20-25 subcontractors depending on workload

🎯 What they're looking for

  • 5+ years in a field operations / site leadership role (steel, construction, or similar)

  • Strong people management - able to lead crews and subcontractors effectively

  • Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously

  • Solid understanding of structural or miscellaneous steel erection

  • AISC environment experience is a strong advantage

πŸš€ Why this role stands out

  • Stable, growing business (8+ years of consistent expansion)

  • AISC-certified in both fabrication and erection

  • Modern, well-invested fabrication facility

  • Strong reputation for quality and organisation

  • Close-knit, "no bad apples" team culture

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership

πŸ’° Package

  • Salary: Flexible depending on experience

  • 401k with 4% match

  • Health insurance (60% covered)

  • PTO (negotiable depending on level)

  • Relocation support available where needed
