Job Title: Family Support Worker
Location: Wellingborough
Working Arrangement: Flexible hybrid working (office attendance required on set days)
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to support Social Workers in delivering high-quality, child-centred services to families. This role involves undertaking direct work with parents and carers to promote positive outcomes for children and families.
You will play a key role in providing practical and emotional support across a range of areas, including parenting support, budgeting, domestic abuse awareness, healthy relationships, and facilitating duty and family time. The post also requires effective multi-agency working and maintaining accurate, timely records.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Social Workers with direct work with parents and families
Delivering practical parenting support and guidance
Providing support around budgeting, domestic abuse, and healthy relationships
Assisting with duty work and supervised family time
Attending meetings and contributing to multi-agency working
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date case records in line with service requirements
Being available to attend the Family Hub when required, including on designated office-based days
About You
Experience working with children and families in a support or social care setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Good organisational skills and attention to detail in record keeping
A flexible and proactive approach to work
Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
Working Arrangements
The role offers flexible hybrid working; however, you must be able to attend the office to provide support when required. There are set days when Family Support Workers are expected to be office-based to ensure adequate team support and service delivery.
