Core Function
The CNC Estimator is responsible for evaluating customer drawings, determining material and labor costs, and providing rough estimates to the sales department. This role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, assess manufacturing feasibility, and estimate machining time and costs accurately.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer drawings to develop cost estimates for manufacturing.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Mastercam to determine necessary machining processes and material requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Assess machine time and labor costs to provide detailed quotations.
- Work closely with the operations team to refine estimates and optimize production efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machining or estimating.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Mastercam.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing blueprints.
- Experience in cost analysis and quoting for CNC manufacturing.
- Hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset.
