An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a specialist engineering and fabrication business delivering high-quality structural steelwork and complex construction projects across the UK.

This role would suit an engineer with strong experience in structural steelwork, fabrication, and practical engineering solutions who is looking to work on varied and technically challenging projects within a collaborative environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the design, coordination, and technical delivery of structural steel and fabrication projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Working closely with fabrication, detailing, and project delivery teams, you will ensure designs are practical, efficient, and fully compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural design and engineering of steelwork and fabricated structures
  • Producing structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation
  • Liaising with fabrication teams, detailers, architects, and contractors
  • Reviewing fabrication drawings and connection details
  • Ensuring compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Supporting projects through design, manufacture, and installation phases
  • Providing technical support to site and project teams
  • Delivering cost-effective and buildable engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience within structural steelwork and fabrication environments
  • Strong understanding of steel connection design and fabrication processes
  • Experience delivering commercial and industrial structural projects
  • Familiarity with Tekla, AutoCAD, TEDDS, MasterSeries, or similar design software
  • Ability to interpret fabrication and workshop drawings
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Chartered status or progress toward Chartership would be advantageous
