Education, Employment and Training Adviser

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Education, Employment and Training (EET) Adviser to join a Virtual School service supporting looked-after children and care leavers. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference to young people's lives by improving access to education, training and employment pathways.
The role
You will play a key role in supporting children and young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET. Working as part of a Virtual School team, you will support and challenge professionals, influence outcomes and work directly with young people to help them achieve sustained positive destinations.
A key focus of the role is contributing to a Care Leaver Youth Trailblazers-style programme, designed to improve education, employment and training outcomes through targeted support, employer engagement and partnership working.
Key responsibilities
Manage and support a cohort of looked-after children and care leavers to engage in education, employment and training
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
Support and challenge professionals to prevent delays in appropriate EET provision
Develop and implement creative strategies to improve EET outcomes
Analyse qualitative and quantitative EET data to inform service delivery
Build and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners
Engage employers to develop work experience and work shadowing opportunities
Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance monitoring and reporting
Support young people's transitions into further education, training or employment
Deliver training and guidance to professionals, carers and partner agencies
About you
You will have experience working within education, employment, training or children's services and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable young people, including looked-after children and care leavers.
Essential requirements include:
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Experience of achieving positive outcomes in education, employment or training settings
Strong safeguarding knowledge and awareness
Good understanding of legislation relating to looked-after children and care leavers
Ability to work creatively, manage programmes and build effective professional relationships
Excellent communication and organisational skills
