Job Description: Director of Estimating
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
Location: Paola, KS
Industry: Structural Steel Fabrication
Core Function:
To manage the estimating team and ensure complete accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for potential projects.
The Client:
Our client is a leading AISC steel fabricator and erector across the Midwest and has been operating since the mid-1900s.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the review drawings, specifications, and other documents, to successfully bid jobs at a profit, for fabrication and erection when indicated.
· Work with the Project Management team following a successful bid, to ensure an accurate transfer of information and defining of scope, including revisions, additions, and deletions.
· Present bids in their entirety, at job kickoff meetings.
· Continue to work with Project Management on pricing issues pertaining to the bid or to revisions.
Requirements:
· Strong management experience is essential.
· Understand shop detail drawings, erection plans, and construction specifications
· Understand construction concepts and methods
· Proficiency with Tekla EPM / PowerFab
