Communications Officer

£160 per day (umbrella)
Full Time Contract (1 year)
Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Communications Officer in Tower Hamlets. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.
The job:
- Support execution and delivery of communications plans on recycling and waste improvement (although general support on wider public realm topics will also be part of role)
- Developing external and internal content across channels including press releases, social media, newsletters, consultations, and media responses
- Brief senior officers, the chief executive, the mayor and members including support senior officers and members at photo opportunities generated by the communications team.
- Manage press and media enquiries related to portfolio.
The candidate:
- Strong photography and content creation and editing for social media channels skills
- Ability to go out around borough to get content for channels (at photo opportunities for example)
Delivery of campaigns including a model of delivery, research and evaluation methods
Media expert - Experience of creating and selling in stories, providing sound media advice and support including interview briefs
Experience of managing multiple social media channels to create a positive reputation and using metrics to reach the biggest audiences
