Safety Manager for construction contractor in NYC
Job Title: Safety Manager
Salary: $150,000-$175,000 - NYC
We have a fantastic opportunity at a family built company that work in construction for public & commercial clients. They are looking for a dedicated safety professional with a passion for ensuring the well-being of workers in the challenging world of construction?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly visit job sites to provide project oversight.
- Perform additional duties as necessary
- Responsible for the management of all safety and security matters.
- Develop safe work plans.
- Maintain safety records and reports.
- Prepare incident reports if required.
- Hold a safety walk-thru on a monthly basis for the project manager, CSE, engineer, anyone deemed appropriate.
- Conduct safety meetings at least every two weeks attended by all employees of the contractor and subcontractors
- Maintain a daily Site Safety Log for all project safety and security matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years' hands-on experience as a Safety Engineer on NYCT Projects, you bring a wealth of expertise that directly contributes to the safety fabric of our projects.
- A minimum of ninety (90) days prior NYCT ROW (Right of Way) work experience that includes Flagging/General Order work showcases your familiarity with real-world safety challenges on the ground.
- Your working knowledge of safety and environmental principles equips you to identify both known and potential exposures, allowing you to proactively recommend corrective actions.
✅ Completion of OSHA 30 Construction Safety and Health
✅ Completion of the 40-hour NYC-Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course
✅ Active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
✅ NYCT Track Safety Certified
