Role: General Manager - Fabrication
Location: Buffalo New York
Salary: $150k (negotiable depending on experience)
We have a fantastic opportunity at a long-standing, reputable steelwork company. They are currently looking for a General Manager of Fabrication to join their team. They are looking for candidates with experience in structural and miscellaneous steelwork.
They are looking for someone with previous experience running a fab shop as well as have experience down the quality side.
Job Description:
- RFQ review for applicability
- Proposal review for accuracy and competitiveness and review for cost and budgeting
- Maintain overall departmental capacity schedule and oversee the use of materials and human capital
- Training and development of employees
- Maintaining and improving a safe work environment
- Adhere to quality programs and certifications
- Capital investment identification
- Assuring the profitability of the department
- Full P&L responsibility
- WIP schedule review and management
- Departmental budget adherence
- Formulating procedures and policies within our current quality programs
- Manage service contracts for heating, electric, gas, water, grounds and building maintenance
- Assure integrity of roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating and lighting systems
- Monitor ongoing facilities appearance
What you'll need:
- Engineering or Business related education preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years related experience to include progressive leadership in a fabrication and/or manufacturing role
- Structural steel experience required
- Prior experience leading detailers, estimators and project engineers/managers (preferred)
- Familiarity with Quality programs such as ISO 9001, ASME and AISC (preferred)
