We are currently looking for a SEN Keyworker to work in Westminster. The postholder will work within the Short Breaks Service which supports Families with a Disabled child in The City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Short Break Practitioners use a ‘family-centred’ approach to help families find out about services to support their disabled child and identify other support needs that enable families to adjust to having a child with a disability.

The Assessment and Review team undertakes assessments and reviews the set outcomes for your child/young person. Support plans will be proposed to meet these outcomes and include a number of resources (parenting programmes, Inclusion services, care packages, set pieces of parenting work etc).

The role involves acquiring the voice and views of the child through various communication tools/aids; the child’s views must inform assessments. Evidence of analytical writing is crucial; the ability to process information, record the most salient points and provide a balanced view and evidence to support your views whilst producing clear recommendations and “smart” outcomes.
