Under the direct supervision of the Property Investment Manager and in consultation with the Council’s appointed agents, to identify, recommend and take forward land opportunities within South Gloucestershire to support key objectives for the area. This will involve the exploration of all forms of land interests including acquisition, options, joint ventures.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake development work including investigating opportunities to promote the use of land in accordance with the Council Plan objectives together with an emphasis on a commercial return.
• Provide a cost effective professional development management service to the council taking into account the council’s policies and legislation and particularly the duty to demonstrate best value on all property transactions.
• Assist the property investment team to deliver a range of services and provide advice on development opportunities, new acquisitions, and disposals to support the development programme.

Requirements:

• The role will require site visits and a valid driving licence is essential (pool cars are available).
• Excellent negotiation skills in liaising with land-owners, promoters and agents.
