We are working with a consultancy in Warrington to recruit a Planning Engineer / Project Controls Lead within the Nuclear sector, being responsible for the range of activities involved in the project planning life cycle.
Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, responsible at tender stage for the range of activities involved in the project planning life cycle, which include:
Identifying planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements.
Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme.
Building the programme from first principles, ensuring that programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance.
Working with all disciplines to ensure the full project scope is captured within the programme
Establishing and agreeing with Operations key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning.
Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including programmes, basis of schedule, presentations, and reports.
Developing overall programmes, issuing to all parties for review and implementing recommendations, innovation, and best practice as applicable.
Cost and resource loading, plus resource levelling techniques as required.
Candidate requirements:
Interfacing with third parties to identify and resolve issues.
Experience in a project planner role for a major construction, fit-out and commissioning project, ideally gained in the nuclear, defence or rail sector.
Demonstrable project planning and monitoring skills with relevant, recent experience of working with Primavera (P6).
Experience using Microsoft Project will also be advantageous.
Excellent reporting skills, both written and verbal (presentations to progress meetings).
Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
Ability to design and deliver processes for the accurate capture and reporting of progress data.
