Job Title: Steel Detailer
Salary: $45,000-$70,000
Function – SDS2 or Tekla

The Client
We have a fantastic opportunity at a local long-standing, reputable steelwork contractor. They are currently looking for a Steel Detailer. They are looking for strong experience in steelwork.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
* Create Fabrication, Erection drawings, and Bill of Materials for structural, one off, and miscellaneous steel projects
* Document Control of individual projects
* Ability to manage several projects at the same time
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and architects to interpret/resolve design issues
* Create and submit RFI’s as necessary
* Work closely with Fabrication to interpret and resolve detailing issues
* Ability to check/redline the work of other Steel Detailers
* Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required
* Produce accurate CNC files for processing equipment (burning/bending/drilling).

Experience:
* 2+ years of experience producing structural drawings in SDS2, Tekla, or AutoCAD
* Working knowledge of AISC detailing/fabrication/erection standards
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
* Self-motivated, organized, strong communication, and mathematical skills

Preferences:
* Associate’s Degree in Drafting is preferred or Design related qualification.
