Job Title: Estimator
Salary: $70,000 – $110,000
Function – Steelwork
Location: Buffalo NY

The Client
We have a fantastic opportunity at a local long-standing, reputable steelwork contractor. They are currently looking for an Estimator to join the ranks. They are looking for strong experience in steelwork, heavy fabrication, or Civils projects. Ideally looking for someone who wants autonomy in their next role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* client meetings as needed.
* Assist in the coordination and handoff to the Project Management team.
* Assist field personnel with estimating Change Orders, RFP’s and clarification of RFIs.
* Perform other duties as require.
* Accurately prepare a detailed cost estimate of all aspects of a proposed project including, but not limited to, quantity take off, detailed cost estimate, line item and subcontractor summary by division.
* Work interdepartmentally to establish scope of work
* Expedite timely, accurate project cost budgets by utilizing historic data, unit pricing, subcontractor/vendor proposals and methods as discussed with management.
* Attend bid review meetings as required
* Solicit pricing for materials and subcontractors as needed
* Attend all pre-construction meetings/walkthroughs, site visits, post bid meetings, and
Experience:
* Ability to read and understand architectural steel, structural steel and civil plans
* Ability to plan, prioritize and multitask with meticulous attention to detail within time constraints
* Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematics required for estimating
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education
* BS degree in Civil Engineering, construction or other construction-related field or equivalent combination of technical training and/or directly related experience
* Minimum of 3 years of civil estimating experience required
