Job Overview

The Trainee Tendering Engineer is an ideal role for a candidate with CAD skills and entry-level electrical knowledge looking to progress through a career in High Voltage electrical design for new connections. Alternatively, this could be a field-based technician looking to transition into a new career. This role will be responsible for the development of design drawings to support all stages of electrical connection projects, including initial layouts, tendering and construction drawings.

This is a full time role, but we are also happy to hear from candidates who would like a reduced working week or reduced hour days. It is split between working from the office and home.

Main Duties

Preparing base drawings and electrical connection layouts in CAD.
Undertaking measurement drawings.
Working with the Project Managers to help with construction drawings and as-laids.
Preparing and submitting tenders and quotations for work.
Inviting and collecting quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors.
Occasionally, visiting potential sites to survey in order to prepare subsequent tenders.
Key Skills

Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.
Work independently and organise complex analytical tasks.
Research materials, equipment and labour costs.
Analysing company data, rates, and prices, using software packages.
Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting buying opportunities.
Participate in training and development activities as appropriate.
Apply fundamentals of Health & Safety when preparing quotations.
